Reverse osmosis systems are designed to produce desalinated (demineralised) water using no chemicals (acids and alkalis).
They are compact, fully automated, environmentally safe and high-performance. At reverse osmosis water is demineralized when coming through a special membrane which holds 98-99% of inorganic salts and natural organic components.
The main fields of application of reverse osmosis plants are steam boilers feed water treatment and for producing of process water for beer and beverages, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, for humidifying system, etc.
Reverse osmosis makes it possible to obtain demineralized water with residual salt content of about 10 mg/l. With regard to the required dosing for рН correction feed water salt content after deaerator will be about 20 mg/l.
Thus, steam boiler blow down is just 2-3% even with no condensate return. Moreover, reverse osmosis removes 99.5% of bicarbonate ions (HCO3-) and aggressive carbon dioxide from feed water. Condensate corrosiveness is thereby reduced considerably. Condensate can be returned which gives additional saving. Equipment payback periods are less than a year with regard to maintenance costs and annual deductions for membranes replacement.
Productivity of standard modules - from 0.01 to 30 m3 / h (or higher on request).
IMPORTANT. To ensure the long-term trouble-free operation of reverse osmosis plant is necessary to provide pre-treatment of inlet water. To prevent clogging of the membranes by suspended particles, precipitation of hardness salts and other contaminants - cartridge filters, iron removal filters and softeners should be used. In some cases, as an alternative for softening, can be used the dosing of reagents (antiscalants).
